It’s kind of hard to put into words how much we love Brett + Chan, and how much we loved being a part of their day. Getting to be their good friends first before we documented their wedding, made capturing their day even more special. It’s extremely hard to pick our favorites, because we have so many from their GORGEOUS day. Their wedding was such a beautiful reflection of both of their styles and visions combined, and it’s kind of unreal how beautiful it all came together. We love these two TONS! Their story is a good one 🙂
Q1: Who made the first move in the relationship?
A1: BRETT! He asked me on my first ever (and last) blind date. I don’t think I’ve ever been so thankful as I am that he took a leap and asked me.
Q2: Awkward first date, or awesome first date? Where was the date?
A2: Awesome first date! We went to the boiler room in Fargo and finished up having coffee at Atomic. Yes, there were a few awkward pauses here and there, but generally conversation went on and we spent 3 hours chatting about our lives!
Q3: Brett, what attributes of Chantell did you fall in love with first?
A3: Well, besides her captivating eyes… 😉 Her creative mind and genuine heart is what I love.
Q4: Chantell, what qualities of Brett did you fall in love with first?
A4: His joy, passion for life, and love for people. He has always challenged me to see the very best in people.
Q5: When did you know that you could see yourselves spending the rest of your lives together?
A5: When everything with each other just “made sense”, along with growing in our relationship, getting to know each other, and truly enjoying each other as human beings. This was pretty early on, and I always kept hearing myself inside saying “yeah, I could totally marry this guy”.
Q6: What has been one of your favorite adventures so far together?
A6: The everyday moments, the big and little things. From things like navigating starting a business together to simply making coffee for two in the morning. Doing life together will always be our biggest adventure.
Q7: What is your favorite kind of date night?
A7: Going out to eat somewhere new or an old favorite (aka vinyl taco). Then, walking around somewhere – we love going to big cities and exploring shops and fun new places.
Q8: What advice do you have to other couples who are engaged/newly married?
A8: My advice to anyone engaged or newly married is to always try to out-love one another. There’s too many worldly things that try to “turn our love off”. Don’t ever let that get the best of your relationship. You have the power and privilege to choose to love, in the good and the bad. To me, that is one of the most beautiful gifts we get in a marriage.
Q9: What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
A9: Having so many of our closest friends and family together celebrating our coming together as one before God. We literally had “the best day of our lives”. People joke about that but we have never felt so joy-filled as we have on our wedding day.
Q10: Describe your wedding day in 3 words.
A10: Joyful, beautiful, life-changing.
