Josh + Haley had the kind of wedding that when you leave, your heart feels fulfilled. Getting to know these two from their engagement photos, and then documenting their wedding day, was really special for us. They bring joy wherever they go! Their story is a good one, so have fun reading what makes their love their own:
Q1: Who made the first move in the relationship?
A1: Josh did 🙂 He emailed me in 8th grade. He had a huge crush on me, and I thought we were just friends. It wasn’t until the end of 8th grade that I started to like him as well!
Q2: Awkward first date, or awesome first date? Where was the date?
A2: Awesome first date! We were sophomores in high school. He picked me up, and we went to cherry Berry and watched football. We talked a lot, and he put his arm around me, which I thought that was the best!
Q3: Josh, what attributes of Haley did you fall in love with first?
A3: I fell in love with her quiet and joyful spirit, and love for people (along with her looks. I thought she was a real cutie.)
Q4: Haley, what qualities of Josh did you fall in love with first?
A4: I loved that Josh was very steadfast, and also a person of integrity. Seeing those qualities in him, even when he was just 16 really set him apart. I also loved that he could always make me laugh, and that he was so encouraging and compassionate. He is also SO handsome 😉
Q5: When did you know that you could see yourselves spending the rest of your lives together?
A5: We both knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together after high school. That chapter in our lives was over, and we knew we had something special, and that there was no one else we would rather be with. We got to go on a few trips that summer together and with each others families, and it was the best. I can’t really explain it, we just knew this is who God had picked for us to be with forever.
Q6: What has been one of your favorite adventures so far together?
A6: Our favorite adventure together has been going to Florida for our honeymoon. We both had never been to Florida before, so it was fun experiencing a new place together! We love traveling and would like to do a lot more of it!
Q7: What is your favorite kind of date night?
A7: Our favorite kind of date night is when we don’t really have anything planned out. Then we are able to be spontaneous and it’s also relaxing! It can turn into baking, going on walks, just watching a movie, anything! Just having time set aside to be together is wonderful in our busy life.
Q8: What advice do you have to other couples who are engaged/newly married?
A8: or engaged people: We would say to remember to look ahead, and prepare for the marriage just as much, if not more, than the wedding day. Our wedding day was beautiful, and our favorite day ever, but now we are focusing on our new life together. It can really help put things into perspective while planning too. It helped us not become too worried if something wasn’t going as we wanted with wedding planning, because we had that it mind. Also, I (Haley) would say to make sure to plan the wedding you envision. Don’t plan the wedding Pinterest, or other people think you should have; focus on what you think will be beautiful. Planning is much for fun that way!
Q9: What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
A9: Haley: the first look was very memorable for me. As I was walking there a wave of emotion hit me and I just kept thinking “I am finally marrying my best friend today.” I’ll never forget it.
Q10: Describe your wedding day in 3 words.
A10: Jesus, Joy, Covenant.
